Lenovo withdraws selected 5th generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptops:
Lenovo has announced the 5th generation of ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptops (see current offers) with a new rollback program. The problem concerns only copies produced between December 2016 and October 2017. Devices manufactured later are not susceptible to a detected defect.
Lenovo says that the ThinkPad X1 Carbon part of the 5th generation produced during the given period may have loose screws. These may pose a danger to the battery under the casing. In the worst case, the device may ignite.
