Golden Camera 2018: Ewan McGregor named "Best Actor International"
2017 was as fast-paced as the Hollywood star as one of his biggest hobbies - motorcycling. Ewan McGregor is now awarded the Golden Camera as "Best Actor International" this year.

Hamburg / Essen. In the sequel to the movie "Trainspotting" ("T2 Trainspotting"), he took over again the role of Mark Renton. In the drama "40 Days in the Desert", he embodied both the Son of God and the devil. In Disney's hit movie "The Beauty and the Beast" he shone as a charming, bustling candlestick Lumière. And with a dual role in the third season of the Netflix series "Fargo" he reached his career peak so far. McGregor played the two dissimilar brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy. He was just awarded a Golden Globe for this achievement.
His breakthrough came in 1994 with the thriller "Little Murders Among Friends". From then on, he thrilled alongside Cameron Diaz in the thriller-comedy "Live dear unusual" (1998) or in the "Star Wars" episodes I-III. In 2001, he played alongside Nicole Kidman in the music romance "Moulin Rouge", which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. In 2009 he co-wrote the Camerlengo in the Dan Brown classic "Illuminati".
McGregor dominates mainstream as well as independent
For the novel adaptation "The Ghostwriter" McGregor 2010 received the European Film Award.
In 2016 he also showed his talent as a director. So he acted in the film adaptation of Philip Roth's eponymous novel "American Idyll" not only as an actor but also took over the direction.
